And the other ones, the Oddities; they are different because they possess a special ability that "normal" science can't easily explain. But instead of treating it as a gift, the normal ones sees that as a threat, so they kill the adults and kidnap the children to turn them into a weapon to fight dangerous wars in order for countries to colonize and rule other countries.
