Carter L. Fleenor was born and raised in Florida, where his love for storytelling began early through anime and manga like Dragon Ball, Initial D, and Black Lagoon. His top favorites, Chainsaw Man, Black Lagoon, and Dragon Ball, shaped his admiration for gritty realism, action, and unforgettable characters. At 18, Carter enjoys gaming (RDR2, Project Zomboid, BeamNG.drive), fishing, driving, and working on cars, all of which inspire his creativity.

During a trip to Ontario, Canada, he conceived Chicane, a manga that became his defining project. The story follows brothers Johnny and Nick Alvarez, pulled into the dark world of street racing and organized crime after their father’s death leaves them in debt. At its heart, Chicane is about survival, betrayal, and the unbreakable bond of family.

For Carter, creating Chicane has been a journey of growth, courage, and discovery, fueled by support from friends, family, strangers, and above all, his father, his greatest source of strength.
