The story is set around the year 1000 A.D. A blind boy named Kenshin Hinotoshi is born and raised by the Hinotoshi clan. Despite his blindness, he proves to be a natural warrior by relying entirely on his hearing. He becomes the clan’s prized pupil and its greatest source of pride.
