In a village inhabited by crystalline humanoid creatures called "The Raks"; the body is everything. The cleaner, the shinier your crystals; the worthier you become. A young boy named Scilo decides to embark on a suicidal trip down the volcano from which his species is forged to prove to them that Raks are more than the sum of their crystals.

But, for a shiny monocrystalline boy such as himself, why is he so desperate to upend the rules of the society that favors him? Even if it causes his death...?
