Priest Isaac is facing a demonic plague which contaminates his church. On his path to give his sisters a sense of rest he meets the mysterious Madeline who is determined to rid the world of its plague. As both have a different perspective on the origin of the plague, the question arises as to whether the world is actually falling victim to divine punishment or whether it is a spreading disease.
